Nearby – Images of a quiet landscape

A photographic work about the invisible within the familiar.
The images show quiet and atmospheric moments in nature and landscape. They are photographs that do not explain but allow something to be felt. Nearby is attentiveness to what only reveals itself through slow observation and careful attention.

The works were created in my immediate surroundings. Simple and almost unnoticed nature here becomes quiet images. These motifs are real but not obvious. They do not depict backdrops but natural appearances that reveal themselves through attentive seeing.

The photographs were taken using analog techniques with a large-format 4x5-inch field camera and a 6x17 panoramic camera, both on classic color film. This slow working process requires precision and patience and leads to a meditative view of what is often overlooked in everyday life.
